  • Prevent T2 Diabetes Prevention Program: One out of three American adults has prediabetes, and most of them do not know it. Having prediabetes means your blood glucose (sugar) level is higher than normal but not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. This raises your risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. Without weight loss or moderate physical activity, many people with prediabetes can develop type 2 diabetes within 5 years. The year-long PreventT2 lifestyle change program, developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, can help you make lasting changes to prevent type 2 diabetes by focusing on moderate weight loss, healthy eating and regular exercise. To register, call 352-674-1779

  • Community Walks: Join us for healthy activity in different spots around The Villages (and beyond!). Community walks offer a great way to meet new folks that are interested in being active and explore new walking path options in the area. To register, visit the Learning Center website.
