We have quality measures in place to make sure our patients receive the most appropriate care to help manage their chronic conditions and prevent illness. Ultimately, this results in our patients using the Emergency Room less and having fewer hospitalizations.
The quality of our health system is measured with The Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS), a tool developed by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) that’s used by more than 90 percent of America’s health plans to measure the level of care and service.
Our Quality Rankings
The Villages Health is ranked #1 Physicians Group in North/Central Florida and is among the top 1% of health systems for quality measures in the United States.*
Our Quality Scores
Making sure our diabetic patients get their eyes examined, medications refilled, and screenings completed is just one example of how we make a difference in the health of our patients and improve the quality of care we deliver. These scores help us determine as a health system how we are doing for our patients in each area such as controlling blood sugar for diabetics and annual breast cancer screenings for women.
2016 Quality Scores
The Villages Health is measured in 11 categories for quality by HEDIS. The ratings range from 1 to 5 star (highest). The Villages Health received a 5-star rating in 10 categories and a 4-star rating in one category for HEDIS scores.*
