The Villages Health is proud to offer the Virtual Dementia Tour, an interactive experience that allows participants to simulate 10 minutes in the life of an individual with dementia. The Virtual Dementia Tour® is a scientifically proven method of building a greater understanding of dementia through the use of patented sensory tools and instruction. Created by P.K. Beville, M.S., an award-winning geriatric specialist and founder of Second Wind Dreams®, the Virtual Dementia Tour is provided at no cost.
Participants are required to bring socks and wear close-toed shoes. After completing the simulated dementia experience, participants will meet with a Certified Dementia Practitioner for a short debrief.
The time you are registering for will be your entrance timeframe. Participants will be required to complete pre- and post-paperwork, including a hold harmless agreement. Participants will be garbed and entered into the Virtual Dementia Tour experience as they arrive within their designated entrance timeframe. We will not be able to accommodate late arrivals or walk-ins. Total event time for participants will be approximately 1 hour.
Respite services will not be provided during this event so only registered participants will be accommodated in the waiting area.
