How do I know if The Villages Health (TVH) is the right place for my care?
Come see for yourself! We would love to take you on a tour! We are proud to show you the excellent patient experience we provide. You can trust that all of our board-certified doctors are practicing evidence-based medicine and they care about patients, are good listeners, and want to spend time getting to know you.
How do I decide which Care Center to go to?
All of our care centers are just a golf car ride away! Most patients choose the care center closest to their home although you are welcome to choose from any location and choose any one of our primary care physicians. We have more than 40 to choose from!
Is there someone I can meet with to discuss my options with TVH?
We have just the person for you! A Patient Service Representative is located in every care center available to give you a tour and answer any questions you may have.
Do you accept patients younger than 65?
Absolutely! We welcome all patients over the age of 18. We accept most commercial insurance plans. Please visit our Accepted Insurance page to see a list of plans.
Can I use TVH if I don’t live in The Villages®?
Yes! Anyone living in surrounding communities can use TVH. We have a care center located in Belleview and all care centers are open to anyone interested in using our services.
Can I see a specialist with TVH if I am not a primary care patient of TVH?
Yes! We offer audiology, cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general surgery, gynecology, neurology, orthopaedics, rheumatology, and urology. Our Specialty Care physicians accept Medicare, Medicare Supplement, UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage, and most commercial plans.
To get the greatest benefit of being a patient of TVH, we encourage you to use us for both your primary care needs and specialty care needs. Our health system is set up so all of our services work together to provide you the best health outcomes.
Who do I call if I have questions about my care, how my insurance works, or billing?
Call your care center! We have staff available to help you with anything you need.
If you are just considering TVH and have insurance questions, you can call any care center and ask to speak with a Patient Service Representative. For your convenience, we also have a Medicare Resource Center, staffed with licensed health insurance agents, located in every care center. Our team can assist in connecting you with an agent if needed.
Why doesn’t TVH primary care accept Medicare or Medicare Supplement Insurance for primary care?
TVH offers our patients care coordination, preventive services, and a care model designed to keep you healthy and if you get sick, get you well faster. Medicare and Medicare Supplement policies do not support this type of care. For our patients who are age 65 and older, we accept UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage.
UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage has a variety of plan options you can choose from to fit your lifestyle, budget and preferences. TVH together with Medicare Advantage offers you better health care and better health outcomes often at a lower cost. To learn more, call a care center and ask to speak with a Patient Services Representative.
TVH Specialty Care physicians do accept Medicare, Medicare Supplemental, UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage, and most commercial plans.
What options do I have if you don’t accept my insurance plan?
You have the opportunity to consider changing your insurance plan every year. We recommend you “shop” your options to stay up to date on the latest plans and benefits. There is only a certain window of time you can make changes. Give us a call today at 352-205-4032 and we can tell you more about it.
Did you know if you have just moved to The Villages or are turning 65, you have a Special Enrollment Period?
This allows you to select a new insurance plan during a certain window of time. Call a care center today and ask to speak with a Patient Service Representative so you don’t miss your opportunity to consider your options.
