One out of three American adults has prediabetes, and most of them do not know it. Having prediabetes means your blood glucose (sugar) level is higher than normal but not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. This raises your risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. Without weight loss or moderate physical activity, many people with prediabetes can develop type 2 diabetes within 5 years. The year-long PreventT2 lifestyle change program, developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, can help you make lasting changes to prevent type 2 diabetes.

Year-long program: classes meet once a week for 16 weeks, followed by every other week for 2.5 months, and then monthly meetings for the remaining 5 months; Free (Program workbook is available for purchase for $55.40 or link to free handouts is available).

I loved that when I went to see a specialist, he had every medication I was on, my full health history and my family history because of the coordination at The Villages Health.
