COVID-19 Vaccination Information

**Booster Shots:

The CDC has suggested it is reasonable for patients who are moderately to severely immunocompromised to receive a booster vaccine.  This is because immunocompromised patients typically have less vigorous immune responses to vaccines and higher risk for infections.  This includes patients with active cancer on chemotherapy as well as patients on chronic immunosuppression for organ transplants  as well patients with untreated HIV.  Given the increasing numbers of patients who are being infected with COVID-19, it is important to socially distance to reduce the risk of exposure.

The Villages Health will consider a booster for TVH patients with moderate to severe immunodeficiency on a case by case basis.  For non-TVH patients, Walgreen’s has Pfizer vaccines and Publix has Moderna vaccines.

TVH will continue to provide initial vaccines to community members who desire vaccination. Initial vaccinations are available on a walk-in basis on Mon., Wed. & Fri. 1pm-3pm at our primary care centers.

For The Villages Health Primary Care Patients: You can message your primary care provider by logging into your patient portal.

Each time I visit I become more impressed with how well the Center is organized, staffed and operated. I've had several visits to Audiology with Greg Freeman over the past few weeks and found him to be reassuring and professional and encouraging, making my transition into hearing aids a little easier to deal with. Everything from check-in, the visit itself, the follow-up appointment scheduling and the check-out runs like clockwork.
